Linz09 is Working Together with Linz Taxi Companies
28.01.2008A cab ride is many visitors’ initial contact with Linz. The city’s environmental protection agency and Linz09 are teaming up to support environmentally friendly taxis.
For arriving guests, a taxi driver is often the go-to guy for information about the city and Capital of Culture activities. Now, Linz09 is cooperating with about 170 local cabbies to upgrade quality standards and promote a uniform look. For new taxis that are placed in service in 2008 and fulfill certain conditions, Linz09 is providing a monthly marketing fee of 200 euros per vehicle. The City of Linz is also offering a one-time, 4,000-euro bonus to operators of cabs that satisfy a series of environmental criteria.Details about these subsidies are available online here.
