Every Week of 2009, Our World is Rescued Anew!

52 Ways to Save the World
05.03.2008

A good deed every day – or a weekly contribution to rescuing the planet. The “52 Ways to Save the World” project gets us going in the right direction.

“52 Ways to Save the World” is a Linz09 project that will run throughout the Capital of Culture year. Each week, we’ll be presenting new ways to rescue our planet: showcasing ideas, illustrating how they work and putting them into actual practice. In 52 individual initiatives worthy of attention and replication, participants will articulate their demands and calls for action, protest a deplorable state of affairs or simply have a turn in the spotlight to speak their piece. All are invited to take part in the international idea competition that’s being held to come up with these 52 projects: associations, organisations, artists and groups, whatever their interests and fields of expertise. The theme and the choice of artistic medium are up to the entrant.

Selected projects will be produced and presented for a week on a rotating basis; maximum funding per project: 2,000 euros including the author’s fee.
Concept proposals (3 A4 pages maximum) can be submitted to Linz09 via e-mail to 52wege@linz09.at or on paper to Linz 2009 Kulturhauptstadt Europas OrganisationsGmbH, Gruberstraße 2, 4020 Linz, Austria ATTN: 52 Wege. Entry deadline is May 30, 2008.
