The Indian Soul of Linz
Indian author and performer Arjun Raina has explored Linz from his own unique point of view. The result of his research is “Ecdysis – The Snake Sheds its Skin.” The upcoming world premiere of this play commissioned by Linz09 is part of the “Theatre Mania1: Snowstorm” theatre & dance festival lineup.

“Ecdysis” is a story about contemporary India and its relations to our rapidly globalized world. It depicts three Indians as invisible inhabitants of Linz: A young woman named Priya, her husband Kuldip, and her uncle. Priya and Kulip are brought to Linz from the Himalayas to run a newspaper kiosk. Culture shock, marital discord and the uncle’s mysterious business dealings lead to confusion. In response, each of the three protagonists develops his/her own personal survival strategy.
