Theatre for Young Audiences

Schäxpir
18.06.2009

This year's 5th Schäxpir International Theatre Festival has been working in cooperation with Linz09 to stage several international co-productions. 170 events at venues in Linz, Wels, Gmunden and Steyr make the festival a major highlight of this summer’s cultural calendar.

Theatre for children and young people is theater that has to live up to great expectations. The Schäxpir International Festival passes that test with flying colors. Between June 25 and July 5, the focus—on-stage and off—will be on young audiences. The defining feature of this year's festival is its many international co-productions. Schäxpir’s cooperation with Linz09 is making it possible to stage performances of ME GUSTA by the Belgian theater group Laika as well as Het Lab Utrecht’s work “Rumor.” Schäxpir’s programme includes works for all age groups up to young adult, including drama for teenagers and musical theater for children as young as six months.
