Noise has become an acoustic environmental problem that severely diminishes the quality of life in the city. Now, Linz09 is dedicating an installment of Kopfstand 09 to this issue. Featured guest is acoustical engineer Wolfgang Gratt.

Linz09 Musical Director Peter Androsch’s creative efforts focus on acoustic space as audible life-setting. One essential facet of this is the complex issue of noise, including noise abatement, the background legal situation and the options available to city planners. Keynote speaker will be Wolfgang Gratt, author of the Austrian federal government’s noise pollution handbook and expert in the planning and implementation of major noise reduction projects in Austria.
