Cultural History Day 2007

10.07.2007

Linz’s Cultural History Day 2007 showcasing a wide variety of themes related to recent cultural history will be held September 9-11.

Contemporary cultural history is a field of fascinating complexity. It looks at people, markets and media as well as politics and knowledge, and how they’re interrelated. Various theoretical and methodological resources available at Linz’s Johannes Kepler University provide a place to encounter this field and to engage in a stimulating process of exchange about issues like “the subject,” “politics,” “economy and society,” and “knowledge.” Details about the programme and how to register are available at www.kulturgeschichtetag.jku.at.
Special Recommendation: Panel discussion on Sunday, September 9 at 7:30 PM in the Oberösterreichischen Landesmuseum: “Culture and Politics: A Liaison Dangereuse?” Panelists include Linz09 Artistic Director Martin Heller.
