The artistic duo of Steinbrener & Dempf stirred things up in Linz last May with their “Pass the Buck” project in the Schaurausch (Viewing Spree) exhibition. Now, their “Ticket to the Moon” installation at the main train station is offering to let travelers book passage to outer space.

In the station’s main concourse, Christoph Steinbrener and Rainer Dempf have set up a box that resembles a typical information booth or a cashier’s window. A sign on it promises tickets for sale. But a look through its glass pane inside the box reveals that the floor is covered by red sand like the surface of Mars; otherwise, the box is empty. A big NASA logo above the entrance is even more strongly evocative of space travel. “Ticket to the Moon” is running until November 27.
