2013 Capital of Culture Finalists
03.01.2008In 2013, Capital of Culture honours will be bestowed jointly on a city in France and one in Slovakia. Four candidate cities are vying for the title in each country.
A jury appointed by the European Union has short-listed four French cities—Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse and Bordeaux—and four in the Slovak Republic—Kosice, Presov, Martin and Nitra. These eight now have until summer 2008 to submit their applications. The two 2013 capitals of culture will be officially named during the winter of 2008-09.
