Beginning July 14 at unconventional locations in and around Linz, instruction in the impossible will be purveyed. Registrations are already being accepted. The public response to the ACADEMY OF THE IMPOSSIBLE offerings has been excellent.

The courses are divided into two groups. MIX AND MATCH is ideal for all those who’d like to take part in several shorter workshops and assemble a programme custom-tailored to their own needs. The DO IT ALL courses are just the thing for those who want to concentrate intensively on the specialty field of one of the artists.

The selection of subjects is highly diversified. From overtone chanting under the direction of Viennese musician Hans Tschiritsch, sound transformations with Canadian artist Alexander MacSween, and yoga at sunset with Linz masseur and therapist Gabriele Honauer—men and women, young and old, with a passion for art and culture can select from among 33 introductory courses, workshops and master classes.

Serving as the Academy’s settings are unconventional and “impossible” venues such as downtown streets, shops, historic buildings and public squares in Linz and vicinity. For instance, visitors taking in an exhibit at one of Linz’s museums just might happen upon Academy participants.

Several workshops are already completely booked. To reserve your place during the first summer session (July 14 to August 17) click here. In 2009, the ACADEMY OF THE IMPOSSIBLE will run all year with a summer session in July and August.
