Art and Residential Construction on the Architecture Tour
To attend the opening of Linz09’s LINZ TEXAS exhibition, architekturforum oberösterreich organized a trip to Vienna on Wednesday, June 11. The itinerary included an inspection of some of the city’s most outstanding residential construction projects.
About 40 architects, architecture enthusiasts and journalists got acquainted with “9=12,” a model development in Vienna that’s widely praised for its superb symbiosis of urban living and a countrified setting. Its master plan was the work of renowned architect Adolf Krischanitz. Next destination was Kabelwerk, a project on the grounds of a former wire and cable works. Based on an innovative cityscape concept, it creates attractive links between habitation and everyday life. This architecture tour, a joint effort of Linz09, afo – architekturforum oberösterreich and Az W – Architekturzentrum Wien, got rave reviews from those who took part.
