Theatre Highlights of Early 2009
Linz09’s performing arts program kicks off with a bang right at the outset of the Capital of Culture year. An international theatre and dance festival entitled “Theatre Mania 1: Snowstorm” will highlight the cultural calendar in January and February.
Productions by world-class directors and choreographers will be staged in Linz from January 13 to February 20. The line-up includes performances of existing productions as well as premieres of compositions recently commissioned expressly for the Capital of Culture year. Among the well-known productions that are now making their Linz debut, the spectrum ranges from works that are being performed in the German language for the first time all the way to creations that can function only in and for Linz. Festival venues include the
Landestheater and
Posthof as well as the new
Hafenhalle09.
