An incredibly exciting finale is in store for Linz vs. Vilnius spectators! Last week, the Lithuanians tied up the match 2:2. The true European Capital of Culture titleholder will now be determined by one of both peoples’ favorite subjects: food.

With seven cases, Lithuanian is probably one of the world’s toughest tongues to master. But not even these grammatical language barriers could prevent Vilnius from chalking up a win in the fourth event in Linz09’s best-of-five Linz vs. Vilnius showdown. The audience declared the Lithuanian capital champion in the language category.
Thus, the duel to assume the mantle of undisputed 2009 Capital of Culture is coming down to the wire. And who will prevail in the end has become a matter of taste in the truest sense of the word, since it will be gastronomic superiority that ultimately spells the difference between savory victory and unpalatable defeat.
Messrs. Juhann and Jod will moderate the proceedings on April 2 in their inimitably charming way. Contestants in this big bake-off will be attempting to win over audience members’ taste buds before the backdrop of a grand panoramic view from Linz’s Wissensturm. Actual and would-be gourmets are cordially invited to attend and enjoy what is sure to be a delicious experience!
