Short organ concerts will be given at six of Linz’s inner city churches on weekdays between Easter and Austria's national holiday. They’re an invitation to bide a spell, to find centeredness and serenity, to cast off the stress of everyday life and escape the din that pervades downtown streets.

Mozart called the organ “the queen of instruments.” And for good reason. After all, the organ is unmatched as a means of intensifying meditative silence while simultaneously making its acoustic presence felt. Linz09’s Organ Stops project offers adequate time and appropriate spaces for contemplation and reflection.
These free concerts by local and international organists will be held Monday through Saturday at 5:15 PM. This is a wonderful chance to discover the charms of organ music, to gather ones faculties and reckon ones future course, to find relaxation and receive balsam for the weary soul!
