This is the 23rd year that top international performers are convening in Linz for Pflasterspektakel, one of the world’s largest street art festivals. In addition to the oldies-but-goodies, some special events are being staged to mark the Capital of Culture year.

The whole inner city becomes a stage when about 120 solo artists and groups from 40 countries step out to demonstrate their amazing talents—juggling, pantomime, theater, slapstick, living statuary, acrobatics, and much, much more! The first highlight comes right at the outset—a gala procession of all participating artists through downtown Linz beginning at 4 PM. A world premiere performance kicks off the festivities on July 22. In the play “The Blank Page” by France’s Compagnie Luc Amoros, an oversized canvas serves as a display surface for images and painting, the invisible and the inconspicuous, dreams and desires.
