For some time now, Anja Plaschg, aka Soap&Skin, a young musician from Styria, has been touted as a musical prodigy. Her debut album, “Lovetune for Vacuum”, was released earlier this year and now she’s due to appear in Linz – at a highly unusual venue, the Mariendom.

One part gloom; one part inscrutability; one part melancholia; an extra large dose of breath-taking fragility; unlimited musical appeal: not implausible as a formula for the music of 19-year-old Soap&Skin. Her mixture of emotionally raw voice, piano and electronics shows her susceptible to such diverse influences as Rachmaninov, Pärt, Björk and Aphex Twin. And as for her stage appearance: you can hardly look your fill.
Soap&Skin has been nominated in several categories for Austria’s most prestigious musical prize, the Amadeus Award. The Linz09 project “Good Night Stuff” presents her and her debut album “Lovetune for Vacuum” at the Mariendom.
