Confronting the Nazi Past

Geschichtebuch Umschlag
18.02.2009

New forms of narration have been collected in Linz09’s “History Book” from Niko Wahl. This publication, which will be presented on February 27, sheds light on many different aspects of the darkest epoch of the 20th century in Linz: the time of National Socialism.

The process of dealing with the events of the recent past has been particularly intense in Linz. So why yet another publication about the city’s Nazi past?
It isn’t Linz09’s intention to reinvent the act of coming to terms with historical events; rather, this is a matter of admitting a wide range of narratives. The multiplicity and diversity of approaches offers a chance to go beyond simplifying answers and get to individual points of view.
On February 28, the History Book will go on sale for €4 in the Linz09 Infocenter’s shop. Half of the proceeds will be donated to the Vienna Wiesenthal Institute for Holocaust Studies.
