Linz vs. Vilnius
Linz vs. Vilnius
Copyright: Ewald Kutzenberger
11.03.2009

A fascinating public conversation will take place on March 14 at the Leipzig Book Fair. Ulrich Fuchs and Alfred Pittertschatscher will be chatting about what Linz09 has in store for bibliophiles as well as the “Linz vs. Vilnius” literary duel.

Alfred Pittertschatscher, editor of “Linz.Stories from the Fringe,” a collection of Upper Austrian authors’ takes on this city, and Ulrich Fuchs, Linz09’s deputy artistic director and head of project development, will present the literary projects that are occupying the spotlight during Linz’s term as European Capital of Culture. In addition to several book publications, there’s the “Just Passing Through” exhibition showcasing choice literary tidbits by famous sojourners in Linz, the “For the Sake of Mobility” poetry festival, and the “Linz vs. Vilnius” showdown to determine once and for all which city really deserves the 2009 European Capital of Culture title.
