Linz09 has a lot to offer this weekend! Whether you’re in the mood to attend a concert, go on a bus tour, spend an evening at the theater, take in an exhibition at a museum or enjoy a leisurely breakfast, there’s something for every taste. We’re looking forward to seeing you!

Things get off to a fast start of Friday at Posthof, where A Dozen of Europe is showcasing hot music from Hungary. On Saturday morning, it’s animal lovers turn: Why frogs croak and how communication between amphibians functions will be explained by experts in the Kepler Salon. Taking an active approach to this interesting question is expressly encouraged!
On Saturday afternoon, it’s “all aboard”: co-eds at the Pedagogical Academy of the Diocese of Linz are conducting a bus tour through the history of Linz’s textile industry and the feminist struggles that were among its milestones. That impassioned spirit will carry over nicely to Saturday evening, when Finnish accordion music collides with 100bpm-electronics made in Linz.
This week’s Sunday Morning is as fascinating as ever. Over a gemütliches breakfast at CaféTraxlmayr, “Purimspil” director David Maayan will speak about the concept of his hit play that’s bringing jauntiness and rebellion to the underground tunnels of Linz’s Cembran Keller daily until March 21.
Due to intense, ongoing public interest, “The Führer’s Capital of Culture” exhibition at the Schlossmuseum has been extended until March 29. Another show that’s well worth a visit is “Toulouse-Lautrec,” which just opened at the Landesgalerie. Take a walk on the wild side of the naughty nightlife in 19th-century Paris. In any case, whatever program you put together this weekend, have a wonderful time in Europe’s 2008 Capital of Culture!
