The upper austrian photographer Paul Kranzler started a photographic work for Linz 2009.

Paul Kranzler's (*1979) work is currently on display in the White Space Gallery in London; until 4th November, a series of new portraits can be seen here. He said in an interview that art to him means finding new perspectives; Linz 2009 is looking for a new image of the city – the perfect basis for a cooperation. Kranzler is therefore at work in Linz, collecting material for a new bilingual brochure for the future capital of culture.
His work was made known to a wider audience in 2005 with his exhibition Land of Milk and Honey at the Lentos museum of art, for which his photo series published at the time was awarded a prize for artistic photography. The Krasnodar exhibition was also impressive, a social report on asylum seekers in a hostel on the edge of the city of Linz as well as the Land.Jugend series (2004). In 2004, Kranzler received the Dazed and confused Photography Award.
