Province Exhibition and Garden Show 2009
22.11.2006Linz 2009 is already making its presence felt, and the latest impact is on Upper Austria’s cultural calendar. For the first time in 2009, the Province Exhibition and the Garden Show will be held in the same year.
In the past, Upper Austria’s Province Exhibition (most recently, “Coal and Steel” held in Ampflwang, a former mining town and railroad hub in the Innviertel district of Upper Austria) and its Garden Show (last held in 2005 in Bad Hall) have been staged in alternating years. The 2009 Capital of Culture festivities, though, will feature a Province Exhibition in Schlierbach as well as a Garden Show in Bad Schallerbach. In selecting the respective locations, particular emphasis was placed on proximity to Linz in order to assure easy accessibility for international guests attending Capital of Culture events.
