GOOD NIGHT STUFF...MEETS THEATER MANIA!

To fill in for the postponed play MARIA STUART, THEATER MANIA 1: SNOWSTORM has invited GOOD NIGHT STUFF, the official Linz09 nightline, to stage a diversified week-long musical showcase in Hafenhalle09. There’ll be political hiphop from Africa, and rock, punk and pop from Linz, Vienna, Hamburg and Europe—all in all, a lineup that’s sure to appeal to urban music fans.

GOOD NIGHT STUFF, the official Linz09 nightline, is making excellent use of the opportunity created by the postponement of the performances of the play MARIA STUART originally scheduled for February 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14, 2009 in conjunction with the THEATER MANIA 1 international theater and dance festival. Hafenhalle09 will be totally dedicated to music during the second week in February: political hiphop from Africa, rock and punk from Linz youth centers, unchained pop music from Vienna and Hamburg, even more hiphop—this time from clear across Europe—digital punk from France, and workshops dealing with good stuff like graffiti, DJing and breakdance.

Hiphoppers AWADI, XUMAN and BAAY SOOLEY from Dakar, Senegal will be firing up the crowd with their political texts on February 7. The following evening will feature music from Linz’s two youth centers, ANN AND PAT and KUBA LINZ. Next up are GUSTAV and band, one of this country’s most interesting live acts, FELIX KUBIN with a solo performance of futuristic, flipped-out electro-pop, and the group MORD featuring 2 drummers and 3 guitarists grooving at the interface of noise-rock, indie pop, raw electronic sounds and the power of the moment. Previously purchased tickets for MARIA STUART can be returned to the Linz09 Infocenter at Hauptplatz 5 for a full cash refund, or their value can be applied towards the purchase of tickets to another performance.
