Press Conference
Monday 6 April 2009

Organists from Austria and abroad will make what Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart called the “queen of musical instruments” come alive in a manner befitting royalty. ORGAN STOPS is a series of organ concerts being staged in six Linz churches from April 13 to October 26, 2009. ORGAN STOPS provide a welcome respite from background traffic noise, from on-the-job stress and from the insipid, ceaseless Muzak piped into retail spaces. They’re an opportunity to gather ones faculties and reckon ones future course. They offer relaxation, time to consider the important things in life, balsam for the weary soul. The stops along this path will be presented at a press conference.

The 20-minute concerts will be held daily (except Sunday) at 5:15 PM. The emphasis is on religious music; the works on the program will run the entire gamut of musical genres. Immediately afterwards, concertgoers can take a guided tour of the respective church (for a small fee).
