Opening of the Academy of the Impossible

The first block of Academy of the Impossible summer workshops got underway on July 14, 2008 at 10 p.m. The focal point of activity is the Lentos Museum of Modern Art Linz. Over the course of five weeks, artists from all over Austria and around the world will be holding workshops that attempt to make the impossible come true.

Featured participants in the Academy’s opening ceremony were Stella Rollig (artistic director of the Lentos), David Maayan (artistic director of the Academy of the Impossible) and Airan Berg (Linz09 director of the performing arts).
At the opening gala, Linz dancer and choreographer Marina Koraiman offered insights into the Gyro Kinesis. Then, to celebrate this occasion in properly festive fashion, lots of gaily colored helium balloons were launched from the Lentos’ riverside terrace.
