One of the last major upgrades to Linz’s transportation network was the installation of a slab-structure bridging the autobahn in Bindermichl / Spallerhof. Since 2005, the traffic flows into what amounts to a tunnel there and roadside residents have a view of green spaces. Now, a temporary structure is being erected amidst this constructed idyll: BELLEVUE – Beautiful View. It’s located directly astride the A7 expressway: on one side, you can see the traffic flowing by; on the other side, you have a park vista. Done up in monochrome yellow, its proportions echoing those of the residential buildings nearby, BELLEVUE is a landmark that comes with an expiration date. It’s a stage set for the culture of everyday life that plays with seeing and being seen.
