For SCHÄXPIR 2009, u\hof: developed an extraordinary revue that sought to establish a personal dialog with young people age 12-18 from all parts of town and representing all social strata and ethnic backgrounds.

What is Linz? Is it home? Do you belong here? Does Linz make you happy? Do you want to get out? On the basis of this conversational material, author/director Henry Mason wrote scenes and, above all, lyrics. Each song text was set to music by a different one of the many composers who have worked together with u\hof: over the years. The result was an authentic Linz revue, one displaying verve and wit but also with some edginess and inherent contradictions, interpreted by the u\hof: ensemble with the energetic support of the rock band Candide. WE ARE LINZ reported in music and word on the entire spectrum of youngsters’ concepts and configurations of their lives: longings, aggressions and what you could perhaps call feelings of rootedness in their hometown.
