Zu Gast bei Stifter: Nourishment for Mind and Body

In addition to literature, author Adalbert Stifter loved to entertain guests in his home. “Zu Gast bei Stifter” is dedicated to both passions, and offers a great way for lunch-hour audiences to satisfy their hunger for intellectual and physical sustenance.

During lunch hour on 20 Thursdays, 20 different Upper Austrian authors will be giving 30-minute readings of their works. Afterwards, guests can enjoy a bowl of soup and good conversation. Literature is not your everyday escape from the hustle & bustle of everyday life but it is nevertheless a highly effective one—something that working men and women in downtown Linz are sure to appreciate. Andreas Renoldner kicked off the series on January 8, 2009; the next “Zu Gast bei Stifter” event is set for January 22nd. You find the enitre programme here.
