“Europe moves together” is the motto of “Megahertz,” the 10th European Young People’s Music Festival. Several cities in the Province of Upper Austria will be hosting approximately 8,000 young musicians from all over Europe.

The European Music School Union is gathering for its general meeting in Gmunden on Upper Austria’s Lake Traun, where representatives of the group’s 26 member states will be attending forums to discuss current issues in musical education. Then, on May 21, it’s time to strike up the band! The first stop on the young musicians’ concert tour will be a giant open-air event in Linz to kick off the Megahertz Festival. Over the next two days, joyous sounds will resound throughout the province before the young musicians reconvene in Linz for what will surely be the highlight of the entire event: a “musical wave” at the closing ceremony on Linz’s Main Square.
