“Parade” will make the outskirts of Linz resound with music May 1-3. Eight musical groups from all points of the compass will present their “peripatetic music” during three city tours that promise to deliver completely new auditory experiences.

A fascinating musical experiment awaits you on Linz’s periphery in early May. Stupendously dissimilar sound environments will be encountering one another and engaging in interaction. In doing so, the musicians involved will be using their physical surroundings as a resonating body.
The groups—ranging in size from duos to bands of 30—will be parading along a variety of routes. They’ll be hanging out for a while or passing through on the fly, meeting up with one another and doing a bit of spontaneous jamming—whatever the situation calls for.
Find out how Tonga antelope horns sound when they meet up with Austrian brass band music, and experience how a master drummer from the foothills of the Himalayas lays down a rhythm line for those riffs. Let these musical strolls around SolarCity, through the harbour and up Pöstlingberg open up your ears!
