Crossing Europe 2007 is Set to Go

The 2007 Crossing Europe Film Festival Linz will get underway on April 24. Linz09 is now working together with this event that will be one of the top featured attractions of the Capital of Culture year.

This cinematic showcase directed by Christine Dollhofer and dedicated to fresh young European auteur filmmaking is being staged for the fourth time in 2007. With its attendance numbers increasing every year and as the object of growing attention by international cineastes and movie industry people, Crossing Europe has succeeded in making a name for itself throughout the Austrian film scene and far beyond this country’s borders.

This is the first year that Linz09 will be working closely with Crossing Europe. One of the first results of this collaboration is the newly-produced festival trailer. Karo Szmit, a young artist living in Linz, was commissioned to create the new trailer that kicks off every festival screening and is currently being shown in first-run movie theaters throughout Austria to promote the festival.

Linz09 has also stepped forward as patron of the Crossing Europe Award European Competition. 10,000 euros in prize money will be awarded at a gala ceremony on April 28.
